Privacy Policy

JobMargin is a software service operated by Strickland & Co. (“we,” “us”). This policy explains what information we collect when you use JobMargin at jobmargin.net and app.jobmargin.net (the “Service”), how we use it, and the choices you have.
Information we collect
- Account information: your name, email address, and password (stored securely by our authentication provider; we never see it in plain text), plus your company name and role.
- Business information you enter: bids, jobs, customers and their contact details, crew members, hours, costs, change orders, invoices, quotes, notes, and your company logo and profile.
- Files you upload: receipt photos and bid documents you choose to upload.
- Location: only when a crew member clocks in or out, we record the device’s location at that moment to show whether they were at the jobsite. We do not track location continuously.
- Payment information: payments are processed by Stripe. Your card number goes directly to Stripe and is never stored on our servers. We receive your subscription status, plan, and billing history.
- Basic technical data: information your browser or device sends, such as device type and error logs, used to keep the Service working.
How we use it
- To provide the Service — storing and syncing your company’s data and showing it to the people in your company.
- To read documents you ask it to read: when you use AI bid import, receipt scanning, or spreadsheet import, the file’s contents are sent to our AI provider to extract the details, and the results are returned to you.
- To process your subscription and send billing-related emails.
- To provide support, keep the Service secure, and fix problems.
We do not sell your information, and we do not use your business data for advertising.
Who can see your data
Your company’s data is visible only to members of your company, according to the roles the owner assigns. We share information only with the service providers we use to run JobMargin, and only as needed:
- Supabase — database, file storage, and sign-in
- Netlify — website hosting
- Stripe — payment processing
- Anthropic — AI processing of documents you ask the Service to read
We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, property, or safety of our users or others.
How long we keep it
We keep your data while your account is active. If your subscription ends, your data is kept so you can pick up where you left off if you return. You can ask us to delete your company’s data at any time, and we will do so within 30 days, except where we must keep records (for example, billing records) by law.
Your choices
- Export your data from the app at any time.
- Correct or update your information in the app.
- Ask us for a copy of your data or to delete it by emailing us.
- Crew members can decline location access on their device; clock-ins will then be recorded without a location.
Security
Data is encrypted in transit, access is limited to your company’s members, and payment details are handled entirely by Stripe. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and will notify affected users of any breach as required by law.
Children
JobMargin is a business tool and is not intended for anyone under 18.
Changes to this policy
If we make material changes, we will update the date above and let account owners know by email or in the app.
